NIGHT OF FREESTYLE & JUMPS 2025

THE NOFAJ & Its History

The Dinslaken ice rink is one of the few facilities that not only accepts freestyle skating, but actively promotes it. Every year, the "Night of Freestyle & Jumps" takes place here, where various national and international teams showcase their impressive skills. Launched in 2014, the event is organized and run by the Dinslaken ice rink and numerous volunteers.

The event was organized by ice freestylers from Karlsruhe in cooperation with the Dinslaken Ice Rink in 2014. The goal of the event wasn't to find a winner, but rather to raise awareness of this emerging sport. Ice freestylers from all over Europe came to Dinslaken to participate. Among them were teams from Holland, France, Belgium, England, and Portugal.

The fact that the spectators got their money's worth from the daring tricks was also thanks to the many volunteers: numerous young people had helped with the setup the week before and supported the hosts as much as they could.

The Ice Freestylers Karlsruhe first met at the Dinslaken ice rink in 2009. This acquaintance soon developed into a close friendship.

"The idea to start this event came about a year ago," explains Florian Herpel. He is one of the ice freestylers from Karlsruhe. They were fully represented with five artists and a manager. They opened the event with a spectacular show, which included a fire show.

"We are all very open and receptive to one another and treat each other warmly," agree Florian Herpel and Simon Schröder, volunteers at the Dinslaken ice rink.

In addition to the shows, an awards ceremony also took place. Sponsors and supporters were honored, receiving many warm words of appreciation, and even a few tears of joy were shed.

There were no prizes for the participants, and it wasn't a competition. The evening simply served to give the audience an insight into the hobby of ice freestylers. And for the athletes, it was a nice opportunity to sit together and socialize.

During the shows, one young freestyler particularly stood out. Maxou Vallee from France, just nine years old, delivered an outstanding performance alongside Mathy Gueniot. Maxou has been practicing this "sport" for two years now – he loves being on the ice. The young ice freestyler also plays ice hockey – and thus skates several times a week. The truly special feature of this already special event: there was an after-show party and camping. This had never been seen before at an event of this kind.

INFO

Night of Freestyle & Jumps enters its 10th round!

The event will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Dinslaken Ice Rink.

For teams with a long or complicated journey, arrival is possible from Wednesday, August 21st. The campsite will be open from Thursday, August 21st, 2025, from 5 p.m.!

Like last year, you have to bring your own tents.

CAMPSITE:

The “campsite fee” is 7 euros* per night and person plus a food voucher worth 10 euros and a 5 euro garbage deposit.

(* 5 Euro surcharge for caravans or similar vehicles)

Garbage deposit: At the campsite entrance you will receive a garbage bag from us and must leave a 5 Euro garbage deposit.

Because where there's sawing, there's shavings. And where there's partying, there's garbage. But that doesn't mean that every festival guest has a free pass to produce garbage. The costs of site maintenance and garbage disposal are enormous. Everyone can help a little to make this more manageable. At the end of the weekend, simply collect your garbage and drop it off at the campsite entrance. You'll also get your garbage deposit back for a full garbage bag. Please be understanding and spend a few minutes on Sunday morning doing this. This will help us continue to hold the event at such an affordable price and without imposing any further restrictions on the campsite.

Food and drink voucher: You can use the food and drink voucher to pay for food and drinks in the ice rink. (Valid in the bistro, the breakfast bar, and at the after-show party at the grill and drinks stand.) If the voucher runs out, you can of course purchase new vouchers or simply pay in cash.

Glass ban: Glass is strictly prohibited on the entire Night of Freestyle & Jump Festival site (camping). Broken glass poses a real danger to the teams training there and children playing. Therefore, we cannot allow any kind of glass, including pickle jars or Nutella jars, on the site.

Furthermore, glass bottles pose a significant threat, even to you as guests, as some visitors do not seem to understand that drinking containers are not suitable projectiles.

All glass-like substances (such as porcelain) are also subject to the glass ban. Please leave items made of these materials at home. So bring your drinks in cans, plastic, or tetra packs.

The only exceptions to this rule are eyeglass lenses and essential medications such as insulin.

Security: Since some items were unfortunately stolen last year, we would like to remind you not to leave any valuables (watches, money, smartphones, ID cards, etc.) in your tent! If you notice anything at the campsite or something goes missing, please contact our security staff. Any reports of theft or similar incidents will be investigated and reported.

Motorhomes: This year we again have a separate parking space for motorhomes directly at the campsite in the parking lot.

Motorhomes include: camper vans, vans, and buses. (Caravan surcharge: €5 per person)

Sanitary facilities: To meet your physical needs, we provide sufficient restrooms for all campers. For those who want to wash, there are separate shower rooms (men's and women's). Since these showers do not have lockable cubicles, we recommend bringing a swimsuit or bikini.

IMPORTANT: For anyone under 18 who comes to the event without parents and wants to stay later than 10 p.m. or camp, we need a fully completed U18 form.

WITHOUT a form there is no access to the campsite!

Barbecues on the campsite are prohibited for safety reasons!

Instead, we offer a snack bar on the campsite, which is open daily until 1:00 a.m. and provides you with food and drinks.

We also offer breakfast for our campers on Saturday and, of course, Sunday morning.

For 8.50 euros per person and breakfast you get an “all you can eat” breakfast (can also be paid with the meal card)

IMPORTANT: For all freestylers who want to camp and have breakfast, even those who ONLY want to camp, please register under this link: https://www.freestyle-jump.de/schedule
